Oral appliances are available to treat Sleep Apnea and Snoring. Dr. Barnes has worked in local practices including Sleep Therapeutics in Boulder, which is an Accredited Sleep Therapy Center by the Community Health Accreditation Program. Dr. Barnes has helped patients with oral appliance therapy for many years and will work with your general dentist to maintain continuity of care.
Headaches, Bite problems, tooth grinding or clenching, ear pain, painful teeth, and gum recession are all indicators of a TMJ problem. Some individuals suffer from headaches, neck pain, or “sinus-like pain, cheek pain, limited opening occlusion (bite). Dr. Barnes has extensive post-graduate training and experience diagnosing and effectively treating TMJ, head, and face pain. Dentists and physicians throughout the area refer their patients to Dr. Barnes for evaluation and care.
IV Sedation is not just for patients who are nervous, but also for patients who are difficult to numb, or who want to have all of their dentistry done at once. IV sedation is safer, more accurate and more effective than taking oral sedation medications. Dr. Barnes is certified in BLS, ACLS and licensed with the State Board for IV sedation, and meets the requirements for training and safety. Other options include in-office oral medication, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), IV sedation, and a CRNA more complex IV regimen.
